Welcome to Nuclear Event Reports (NER)
This page provides information about every anomaly, incident or accident in worldwide nuclear industry operations rated according to the International Nuclear Event Scale (INES).
The INES rating system is a means for promptly communicating to the public in consistent terms the safety significance of events reported. Events are classified on the Scale at 7 levels:
- Level 0: deviation
- Level 1: anomaly
- Levels 2 - 3: incident
- Levels 4 - 7: accident
In case of any event of significant consequence, WNN will engage a worldwide contact network of nuclear experts to provide comprehensive, up-to-the-minute reporting and analysis.
This site also provides analysis of history's most significant events, with up-to-date references relative to several noteworthy nuclear events.
